I've switched from Toad for SQL Server 6.6 to 6.8 64bit freeware version, but now menu option Tools/Import/Import wizard is disabled. Any idea what can be the problem and how to solve it?
I submitted this idea. Please vote if you think it would be useful for you.
I was considering buying the full version, when I saw that the price will gain me access for the full edition only for 12 months.
I think it's a bad practice, pushing users to other products.
I think that giving a lifetime license at even cheaper price ( I think 230$ is really high) , and having users pay only for major upgrade after the first 12 months is a much more acceptable approach.
Thus - the customer knows the money he spent will keep it's value, and if he wants new feature after 12 months, he pays a maintenance fee (around 20% of a full price) .
you can offer bundles for maintenance in advance.
Just an idea.
I am trying to install ToadforSQLServer_22.214.171.124_x64_En.exe
And error is that it is incompatible with windows (10, x64)
In connection manager After I entered server / user/ password and clicked "Save password"->"Save", I can see Toad saved the password encrypted in the connections.xml file, but the connection manager doesn't load it so it always asks me for the password again.
It's a regular SQL Server user and the password works, but I have to reenter it again every time.
Toad for SQL Server 126.96.36.199 (64 bit)
I just upgraded to 188.8.131.52 yesterday and almost immediately notice that when I select a variable name (or any text) other instances of that text in the current editor window do not highlight like they did in 6.7. Is this an option that must be turned on? If so, where is the setting? I've looked and looked, searched and searched, but found none.
I need to execute script and send result by mail
from automation tab, i drag execute scirpt and paste the script
after that i drag send mail and configure mail server setting
but i didn't find from where I define that he mail will contain the script outlook?
Also I need to know when i use LINK SQL file ? i didn't understand the benfit from it
I've tried many times without luck. I deselect FK in the script creation and it still creates FK at the bottom of the script. I've to manually go and remove that as I don't want FK in the creation script. I create FULL DB script for deployment on test servers so I want script w/o FK to start with. Later I want ONLY FK script that I enable after data load.
Please help as because of this possible glitch I cannot automate this task.
Recently I found our that Toad provide the option to create Database Diagram. I have a lot of tables in my db hence I found it's very helpful. I created diagram but I have a problem to understand and navigate in it.
E.g. how could I search for particular table? I know the name of if but can't locate it easily. Does it have a 'search' option? What means symbols on diagram? I understand the symbol of primary key but how about the rest?
I downloaded Toad for SQL Server 6.7 from our corporate license and can't see query builder. 10 other folks in the organization have downloaded the same thing and can see it just fine. Is there possibly another application on my computer that is conflicting and preventing it from showing or an option within my application that might be unchecked in order to see it.
I want to show "Triggers" sub-topic in "Probrammability" in the Object Explorer. How can I do?
I am using Toad for SQL Server 184.108.40.206 (64 bit).
I've reinstalled Toad a few days ago. I was using 6.7 before and now using 6.8. I've got a strange behavior when I want to launch a request: the first result to come takes time. Really. More than 15 minutes in fact.
It doesn't depend on the request launched, even with a simple select on a one row table, it takes the same time. Just nothing happens, blue circle in result window and nothing more.
Once the first result has been displayed, next requests will be normally fast.
I've removed the script ran on new connection without result.
My database is a bit huge, around 50 000 tables, may be a problem. But it didn't change since a lot of time.
If anyone has got an idea... ?
Thanks for your help,
I mainly work with Toad for Oracle, I don't have a lot of experience with Toad for SQL Server. I have no idea what this error message means. Any help would be appreciated.
I'm using Version 220.127.116.116 Xpert Edition.
I'm using Toad for SQL Server 18.104.22.1689
On a right sided I have a Tab called Code Snippets.
I'm looking for some function syntax or synopsis e.g. I care about synopsis of function STR.
When I select it from drop-down ... it gives me only what the function does but don't give me syntax and synopsis.
It has an option 'click for online reference' but it also does not help me.
Well my question is: how from inside the Toad I could get syntax or synopsis for particular function?
How can I modify the font for the column headers in the Results window? I would like to make the font bold in order to have it stand out from the actual results.
I have played around with the Tools -> Options -> Interface ->Grid Style and that does not do what I would like. As a side question is there a way to create custom Grid Styles and/or Skins?
I work in a database with a large amount of objects and Toad performance is poor.
See the following for reference.
Default or DEFAULT constraints
PRIMARY KEY or UNIQUE constraints
Any suggestions on how to improve performance?
I can nowhere find an option how I can define that the JOIN's are directly formatted like the from or where. The JOIN in a new line is just allignet right by the FROM.
I would like it so:
SELECT table1.id, table2.id, table3.id, table4.id FROM table1 JOIN table2 on table2.id = table1.id LEFT JOIN table3 NATURAL JOIN table4;
I dont like it so:
SELECT table1.id, table2.id FROM table1 JOIN table2 on table2.id = table1.id LEFT JOIN table3 NATURAL JOIN table4;

Is it possible to authenticate using Active Directory Password Authentication in Toad for SQL Server 6.8? In Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio there's an option for this, but in Toad for SQL Server there's only "Windows Authentication" and "SQL Server Authentication". My Login name is my email address, e.g., email@example.com. When I login with SQL Server Authentication in Toad, it fails with the error message "Cannot open server "domain.com" requested by the login. The login failed."
Thanks in advance
In the object explorer, when I see a list of table names, 99% of the time in my organization we right click, go down to "Generate SQL" and click "Select statement" or some other SQL statement.
Is there a way to change a setting so that when you double click a table it automatically generates a Select statement? Currently when I double click it brings up an "Alter Table" dialog which we never use. Having it generate a Select statement for that table would save a lot of time.
