I have been Successfully Using the 64bit-TDM 188.8.131.52 Since you Released the Beta Without any Incident.
In Fact, In Large part due to I believe the Increased Memory Pool Limits you are using in this release the Performance of using the Tool With My very Large Models Has Increased Dramatically.
I do see that the Beta 6.4 release is scheduled to Expire on Feb 28, 2018
And So I would like to know what the Plan is to Release this Release as an Official Release, Or if there is anyway of extending the Expiration Date until you Officially Release 6.4
Please let me know.
With several thousand Entities to draw subject area diagrams for, and developers constantly adding new Entities, I know that if I kept the all items workspace, they would be thrown into that mess. I've nuked that because it's just that, a mess, and serves no purpose. Workspaces are NOT defined by schema, either, simply because we are still transitioning from the old dbo-everything SQL Server paradigm, to schema-oriented. Workspaces, currently 30 or more, are Business Function oriented, often broken into multiple "sub-worspaces" because there are just too many items to depict with any clarity if left all together.
That described, how, when I run a Model Update from the latest release database, do I obtain a list of all entities that are not in any of my subject areas? If the "all items" workspace were to creep back into being, I'd need to specifically exclude that from consideration, for obvious reasons.
I was wondering if the new version of Toad Data Modeler will include PostGreSQL 9.6
We are pleased to announce that we released the Beta build of Toad Data Modeler 6.3. It is available for download here in the Beta community site.
I am trying to reverse engineer an Access 2007 database. I have a connection, have the ADO/DAO provider which is the only one that shows up in the dropdown list, and am selecting the file path. I keep getting this error though. I the the standard install.
Can someone please tell me how to fix this? It would be easier to do it with this wizard if I can get it to work given how many tables this program has.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
BTW: The connection string with the workgroup file is:
Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=C:\Users\Public\Documents\MS Office\Access\Restaurant Program\Master Copy\Restaurant Analysis.accdb;Jet OLEDB:System Database=C:\Users\Ministry\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Access\System.mdw;
Without the workgroup file it is:
Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=C:\Users\Public\Documents\MS Office\Access\Restaurant Program\Master Copy\Restaurant Analysis.accdb;
I have tried this with and without using the Workgroup Information File with the same error.
I have also tried using the short file names like what you would find under the Command prompt. Nothing seems to work.
When I generate DDL and check the "Split Output File" I get scripts for each table and one called other. The other has the key and index statements. Is there a way to have these included with the table scripts?
Hello, is it possible to get a license key? I was trying to use the beta product, but it asks for a license key.
I prefer my history tables to be stored in separate filegroups from the current table.
As far as I know, 2016 doesn't have an easy way to define a separate filegroup with the simple history table auto-generation command WITH (SYSTEM_VERSIONING = ON ( HISTORY_TABLE = [???_HISTORY] )).
For this to work, the history table needs to be defined and created (without pk, fk and period of course) first on one file group, then the current table created on a separate filegroup with system_versioning on to attach to it.
Maybe have an checkbox under "Temporal Table Properties" to define history table separately, and with a check of the box, the ability to specify a separate file group?
It seems to me that during generating of sql script from model action, TDM is ignoring extension settings in Order of generated objects page. Example is in attachment.
As I know it worked in older version. I am forced to use beta because of other bugs which blocks me in work.
Do you know how to force TDM to take this settings in use?
After upgrading new Win10(x64) update 1607 seems Toad beta 184.108.40.206 lost ability to print. After program starts, it gives notification that "No valid printer has been found on your computer. Some of the functions related to print might work incorrectly." Trying to choose Print.. from menu results in program crash.
TDM Version: 220.127.116.11
Server: SQL Server 2014 / SQL Server 2016
On a model with 100+ tables with lot of changes (5-10 tables, new columns) "Model\Generage Change Script" includes objects which weren't selected:
Steps to reproduce:
Using 64 bit version.
The list does not seem to retain my changes. Also, it has multiple headers for the same thing (Procedures, Functions, Entities).
See screenshot below.
If make multiple cycles of "Update Model From Database..." ->...Make some changes to the model -> "Generate Change Script "-> "Update Model From Database..." TDM shows that Column Order in multi-column index got messed up.
If a column is renamed in database and you do "Update Model From Database..." it drops the old column with all custom attributes which are stored inside the model only.
It would be nice to have a way to match old and new column in UI, so it would be treated as rename w/o loss of any attributes.
I experience the similar problem with Tables, FK, PK, etc.
i have modeler 3.4 and when i try to run the new beta version, i receive a message that license key has not been found. will the beta version run with my current version?
Our customer is executing a Reverse Engineering of 4,000 objects schema and is 17 hours executing without termination. In the past the customer had some issues of out of memory in TDM 32 bits and he was expecting the issue will resolve in 64 bits
I have a parent table and a child table. The child table has a data type with N columns. One of these columns should make reference to the key of the parent table. How to do this in TOAD Data Modeler?
